Streaming Video Theater

The streaming video theater is being reorganized. Some video are presently available from this site using BitTorrent, and some video are available from Google video. My current plan is to drop the BitTorrent support and provide .rm and some small .wmv files directly from this site, while .mpg, .asf, and .wmv video will be at Google. I have put some wmv files in 320x240 resolution at dialup and broadband compatible bandwidth as well as wmv files in vga resolution and mpeg files in 320x240 and 640x480 vga and 720x480 dvd resolution at the google site. When viewing a page at Google Video it appears that they test your bandwidth and feed you the maximum resolution that you can reliably stream. So the medium-res, and high-res video look the same on my DSL feed. If you download the higher resolution video and view them locally they appear in DVD resolution. None of the UT video are copy protected, view or download freely.

Click the "other videos from this user" option at google to check for other video uploaded there before they get cross referenced here. The following files are available for testing from Google Video:

You may now also access media files with BitTorrent. BitTorrent will provide the higher bandwidth needed to support higher resolution videos. Video in real-media at 320x200 and low frame rate is about one megabyte per minute. Windows Media Video in 320x200 is larger, WMV in 640x480 resoluion and MPEG1 in 320x240 resolution are larger yet. MPEG2 and DVD video formats in 720x480 require about one megabyte per second. You need to download BitTorrent from the above link and use it as the downloader for ".torrent" files. This allows for parallel distribution of video file data by BitTorrent users and should provide for higher bandwidth access to the video files. To test this I have created links to a few video files in BitTorrent wrappers. The MPEG2 files have the same resolution as DVD Format, 720x480 (DVD files will be 2GB to 4.7GB)
